SANKALPA GHOSE
is founder of OpenTelemed and works at the intersection of biomedical engineering and bioethics. He was part of the first team to deploy mobile telemedicine in global health settings and was platform architect for Swinfen Telemedicine, the precursor to OpenTelemed.
He is founder of An Art Company, a spatial computing company, co-founder of Like A Dog, a community health organization for community animals in Kolkata, India, and was biomedical fellow at the Center for Contemporary Sciences.
Sankalpa has produced work with some of the world's leading philosophers, artists, and institutions, including Peter Singer, Marina Abramović, William Kentridge, Insoo Hyun, Pipilotti Rist, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Museum of Contemporary Arts.
He is a graduate of Columbia University and lives between India and the United States. -
DR. KAREN RHEUBAN
is Professor of Pediatrics, Senior Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education and External Affairs and Director of the Center for Telehealth at the University of Virginia. Dr. Rheuban is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Academy of Pediatrics and a past President of the American Telemedicine Association.
The Karen S. Rheuban UVA Center for Telehealth, which is named in honor of her contributions, serves as the hub of a statewide telemedicine network and supports patient specialty encounters, e-consults, remote monitoring services and health professional and patient education.
Dr. Rheuban is the co-editor of the textbook Understanding Telehealth. She has previously presented Congressional testimony regarding telehealth to committees within the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. She is a recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award, given to exemplary University of Virginia community members that personify the University's principles and ideals. -
ANIL VASSANJI
represents corporations and individuals in the financial services, real estate, and other industries in connection with a wide variety of complex commercial disputes, appeals, and criminal defense matters. He has a substantial pro bono practice and serves as co-lead attorney for his firm's pro bono efforts.
Anil serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the New York Civil Liberties Union as Treasurer, the Project Development Committee of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance, Legal Services Corporation's Emerging Leaders Council, and Law360’s Access to Justice Editorial Advisory Board.
He is a graduate of Columbia University and the London School of Economics.
